In sand, lowering pressure within an approved range lets the casing deform more. Put an 80 kg adult into a soft Arizona wash and that larger footprint can reduce the tendency to dig in, which often improves low-speed traction. That is not the same as lower always being better.

With an inner tube, too little pressure can let a hard edge compress the casing enough to trap the tube against the rim, which is the classic pinch flat or snakebite. Removing the tube removes that specific mechanism, but very low pressure on a tubeless system can still produce rim strikes, casing damage, tire roll and bead retention problems. Only run tubeless if your exact wheel and tire system is approved for it, and do not convert without approved documentation.

A Sur-Ron owner reporting 12 PSI on a forum has supplied a ride anecdote, not a specification, and the same is true for Talaria.
